Those Darn Girl Scouts

I bought myself a "little" treat of 4 boxes of girl scout cookies yesterday. (It's for a good cause...) The usual: 2 Thin Mints and 2 Caramel Delights AKA Samoas. About 10 feet from my driveway last night, I realized I had left them at work. *gasp!* The horror! So I went on an awesome walk with my fair terrier around the town of Billings.
All the way to work this morning, the only thing I could think of was my yummy cookies. Before telling my co-workers "Good Morning" or putting my lunch in the fridge, I stuffed my cheeks with two delicious cookies. I've been at work 12 minutes now and have inhaled 2 rows of caramel delights.
Put the cookies down.
Walk away.
Get to work.

Blessed.

I have had a h.o.r.r.i.b.l.e. day. I have a hard time not taking criticism personally, particularly when that criticism is saying essentially, you're just not working hard enough. While I wallowed in my self pity, I was reminded that I am surrounded by people who think otherwise and for them I am thankful. I have a wonderful boss and co-workers. They reassured me that I was doing well, or at least the best that I can. I have an excellent husband who has *no clue* what I do or why I get frustrated, but tries his best to listen and understand. When that fails, he brings me sweet tea from chick fil a to brighten up my day. My mom stays on the phone while I vent and, luckily, she knows what I'm talking about and can commiserate.
All in all, I ended up having a pretty swell day. I think the Opster and I are going to curl up to a good book and go to sleep.

You're Up Then You're Down

There hasn't really been a lot to report in the Sekscinski household. We turned in Sean's application to the school for radiologic technology so now it all depends on many prayers, an admissions board, and an interview, if we are so lucky to get one.

We were graced with an awesome "blizzard" last week. I missed work Tuesday & Wednesday & Sean had to take me into work the rest of the week. The main highway through town still looked like this up until Saturday. I'm a homebody so I didn't mind being snowed in, but after two days of reading about everyone else's arts and crafts and what they were doing on their snow days, I was ready to go back to work. There was nothing to do at my house except to watch re-runs of Law & Order & That 70s Show on Netflix.

A new week, though, brings the thought of perhaps more snow tomorrow night. Nothing will change if I get snowed in though. I have restricted my crafty budget in order to work on the house. We've had many conversations about the things we'd like to get accomplished this summer and they include:
  • Remodeling the master bath
  • Re-siding the garage
  • Replace the flooring throughout the house & lay down trim.
  • Continue to battle the moles.
I still haven't received my 2009 tax return so the majority of this is dependant upon that. However, OUR 2010 taxes are ready to be filed, I'm just waiting on the W-2 from the worst job I ever had.

My sister in law has a lot going on in her life though, so things aren't dull around the house, to say the least. Many prayers in that area.
